NU_L_AR W_R

If you have ten minutes to spare -- and, really, who doesn't? -- check out this animated film from 1985. It involves a couple playing Scrabble while the rest of the world deals with an unfolding nuclear holocaust. It's quite strange, but very entertaining in its demented way. It also includes one very brief -- almost subliminal -- moment that's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Perhaps you can guess what I mean.

John,

Just started reading your blog again. I'd totally forgot you had one. My bad. And, my loss. But I'm glad I've rediscovered it. What was the subliminal moment in this movie?

Well, welcome back, Kraig. Glad to have you around.

The moment wasn't technically subliminal, I guess, but it's when he's looking at the photo of him and his wife and it comes alive -- the moment is when his saw passes through one of the head circles, implying that he was holding onto it even while cavorting behind that thing. Hilarious. (I think it's somewhere around the 7:30 mark, if memory serves.)

Of course, my mom pointed out that there were saws clearly hanging all over the house, which I hadn't noticed, so what I consider "subliminal" is pretty dubious.
